Statue of “Rolling Thunder”
Inside Hamley Steakhouse & Saloon, the powerful bronze statue “Rolling Thunder” stands as a tribute to the spirit and strength of one of the Pacific Northwest’s most revered leaders. “Rolling Thunder” was the given name of Young Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, a figure renowned for his wisdom, courage, and unyielding pursuit of justice for his people. This striking piece—number 1 of a limited edition of 10—was sculpted by celebrated Eastern Oregon artist David Manuel, known for his detailed, lifelike representations of Western history and Native American heritage. As with the nearby Attitude Adjustment statue, Rolling Thunder adds to the storied atmosphere of Hamley’s, connecting diners and visitors to the legacy of resilience, honor, and leadership that helped shape the region.
