An operating bordello until the 1950s, this intimate hotel sits in the center of historic Pendleton, a 5-minute walk from shops, restaurants and the Umatilla River walkway. It’s also 0.8 miles from the Pendleton Round-Up. All 5 rooms all feature Victorian furnishings, hardwood floors, brick walls and 18-foot ceilings, as well as flat-screen TVs and free WiFi. Bathrooms are private, though only 1 is en suite. Guests have access to a full kitchen, a dining room and a lobby with a wood stove. Sorry no children allowed due to antiques and layout.

NEIGH-bors Horse Motel B & B is located on the north side of Pendleton, home of the world-famous Pendleton Round-Up (second full week in September). It’s an easy ride to the Round-Up Grounds, just down the hill, across the bridge, and along the river to the site of the greatest four-day outdoor rodeo in the world.

MEET THE HOSTS

MaryAlice and Bob Ridgway are your hosts. MaryAlice grew up on the back of a horse, and Bob grew up on a Football Field. Today Bob is the Number One Stable Boy, and MaryAlice takes care of the horses. Bob builds the fences and MaryAlice jumps them.

MaryAlice uses the natural horsemanship methods of communicating with horses. She has attended and hosted clinics to better understand the horse’s mind, and as Ray Hunt always said, “I’m here for the horse – to help him get a better deal.”
